My First Edible Image Cake

Chocolate cake seems to be the flavour of the month. Another chocolate cake here covered in ganache (of course). This time for a 13 year old boys crown birthday. It was my first time using an edible image and I was a bit nervous, but the end result was spectacular...and I wasn't the only one of that opinion.

My husband wasn't too happy with me bringing a Manchester United Logo into the house as he's an avid Liverpool fan...but he forgave me in the end...as long as he gets a Liverpool cake for his birthday in November :)

To celebrate one of my oldest and dearest friends birthday, I baked her a Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache Icing for her birthday. 

Tell me...who doesn't like chocolate on their birthday?! I sure do.

It's been awhile...but with planning my own wedding, I did not have any time for baking...and i missed it..SO MUCH!  Finally back in the kitchen, and I'm SO happy...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year...

Today is my first day back at work and I have loads to catch up on after being on leave for 1 week...so sad! I knew it would be a battle getting stuck in, so i decided to bake some Lindt Brownies last night to make the transition easier :)

Christmas Goodies...

Christmas is finally over...don't get me wrong...I love Christmas and spending time with the family...I'm just glad that I can finally relax...after work that is, lol!

P.S. I finally have my Kenwood Mixer, thanks to my lovely fiance, so baking will be faster, bigger and better!!! Can't wait to use it!

Coconut Ice

This Year, Anton and I will be hosting the Christmas Lunch....and I thought it would be nice to make everyone a gift box containing various homemade confectionery. Last night I started with the Coconut Ice which is my moms favourite...might have to make another batch just for her...

My sister, Nicole, recently celebrated her 19th Birthday and requested a chocolate cake with a peace sign. So i packed up my baking goods and some clothes and off i went to Saldanha. She LOVES Astros, so i incorporated them in the cake as well.
