It's been awhile...but with planning my own wedding, I did not have any time for baking...and i missed it..SO MUCH!  Finally back in the kitchen, and I'm SO happy...

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year...

Today is my first day back at work and I have loads to catch up on after being on leave for 1 week...so sad! I knew it would be a battle getting stuck in, so i decided to bake some Lindt Brownies last night to make the transition easier :)

Christmas Goodies...

Christmas is finally over...don't get me wrong...I love Christmas and spending time with the family...I'm just glad that I can finally relax...after work that is, lol!

P.S. I finally have my Kenwood Mixer, thanks to my lovely fiance, so baking will be faster, bigger and better!!! Can't wait to use it!

Coconut Ice

This Year, Anton and I will be hosting the Christmas Lunch....and I thought it would be nice to make everyone a gift box containing various homemade confectionery. Last night I started with the Coconut Ice which is my moms favourite...might have to make another batch just for her...

Happy Birthday Nicole!

My sister, Nicole, recently celebrated her 19th Birthday and requested a chocolate cake with a peace sign. So i packed up my baking goods and some clothes and off i went to Saldanha. She LOVES Astros, so i incorporated them in the cake as well.

I've always wanted to make these tarts and after eating some tasty tarts on Thursday, I decided it was time to try it out for myself...

These tarts are easy to make but I didn't quite get the same end result as those I tasted on Thursday... DON"T get me wrong, they were TASTY! but as they say, practice makes perfect :)
